As part of recent changes in U.S. trade policy, new tariffs are now in effect for goods imported into The U.S.. At EDM Solutions Ltd., we want to ensure our customers and distribution partners in the United States are fully informed on how these changes may affect their orders.
All EDM Products Are 100% Made in Taiwan
Our full product lines including our 8C04-SFIC cores, components, and accessories is proudly designed in Canada and manufactured in Taiwan. All order Shipments for US customers will be shipped directly from our Taiwan manufacturing warehouse.
$800 De Minimis Exemption Still Applies
The good news: Shipments from Taiwan valued at $800 USD or less remain fully exempt from U.S. import tariffs, duties, and taxes. This means that for most small-quantity orders, there are no additional charges beyond your standard invoice and shipping cost.
This exemption, known as the de minimis threshold, continues to apply to Taiwanese-origin products, and there has been no change for our U.S. customers ordering below this amount.
Orders Over $800: Temporary 10% Tariff + Import Duties
For shipments exceeding $800 USD in value, U.S. Customs now applies:
- A 10% tariff, effective April 2025
- Any applicable import duties and taxes, based on the HS code of the goods
This temporary 10% tariff is part of the U.S. government’s broader reciprocal trade policy and is expected to remain in effect until at least July 2025, or when new policies are instated.
What This Means for EDM U.S. Customers for now:

Small Orders (≤ $800 USD):

Large Orders (> $800 USD):
- Expect a 10% surcharge on top of regular duty and tax
- For bulk shipments, consider adjusting quantities or consolidating orders to minimize overhead
